Matthew Schwartz

Matthew is a member of the JHU Class of 2022 from Harrison, New York and is double-majoring in Economics and Applied Mathematics, with minors in Entrepreneurship & Management and Financial Economics. This past summer, Matthew was an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Evercore in their Restructuring Group, where he plans to return after graduating. Previously, he spent nearly a year as an Investment Analyst at Picus Capital, a German venture capital fund investing in early-stage technology businesses. At Picus, he joined the firm in launching their US office and in screening and analyzing promising investment opportunities across various sectors in the US and Latin America. Matthew also interned with the real estate acquisitions team at Knotel, a unicorn flexible office space provider. Before coming to Hopkins, Matthew worked on expansion market strategy at Sheprd, a ride-sharing startup providing transportation for children and teens. He is especially interested in PropTech, FinTech, and consumer facing ventures and enjoys delving deep into exciting startups. On campus, Matthew is also the President of the Marshal L. Salant Investment Team and a Course Assistant for the CLE. In his free time, Matthew enjoys playing golf and tennis, traveling, and exploring new restaurants.
