About The Program

The Osmosis Medical Education Fellowship program [OMEF] is an application-only facet for our student advocates who want to spread the Osmosis values to their classmates, peers, & faculty members. We aim to grow, develop, & empower a team of Osmosis leaders to spread the Osmosis c & values to learners across the globe.

OMEFs are a valuable asset to Osmosis in myriad ways, including: hosting events at their institutions, collaborating with each other on various projects, building relationships with peer OMEFs & Osmosis teammates, publishing blog posts, attending core-competency aligned workshops and virtual tea times, as well as so much more.

Our hope is that you will join us in ensuring Osmosis reaches as many future clinicians as possible while spreading joy in the process.

About Osmosis

Our mission is to "Empower the world's clinicians & caregivers with the best learning experience possible." To this end, we have an audience of more than a million current & future clinicians as well as patients and family members. Our members of the Osmosis learning platform and video library use the product to learn efficiently & excel in classes, board exams, and in the clinic.

We are a team of creative, approachable, and motivated entrepreneurs, researchers, and clinicians who are passionate about improving healthcare and education. Eligibility

  • Global, MS1 - MS3 in [MD, DO, MBBS, PharmD] in solid academic standing.

    • As well as those completing an iBSc, gap year, or its equivalent.

    • Apply even if you're unsure of your eligibility in regards to the above points

  • Current or Expired Prime Member. You must be a current or have been an Osmosis Prime member who has a demonstrated appreciation for our content, platform, and its capabilities and who has explored and engaged with our platform extensively.

  • Belief in the Osmosis Vision & Mission. Here's our 3.5 minute vision, mission, and values video.

    • We are looking for OMEFs who are aligned with our mission and driven to help us improve medical education for all.

  • Well functioning internet, as this entire program is remote and completed online and in English.

Program Requirements

The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Meet monthly - We will host a 1.5H meeting each month to share exclusive updates on the Osmosis product, content, and research efforts as well as offer a core competency aligned workshop. Some have included: How to Learn, How to Lead Events, Things I Wish I Knew as a Med Student, When You Don't Match

  • Host two events at your school per semester - Serve as a campus leader and help us host Info Sessions, Trivia Nights, Study Sessions, and Wellness Sessions at your school! [Options are endless.]

  • Participate in Referral Programs and actively share Osmosis with classmates - Help us educate more medical students by sharing free Osmosis with friends and classmates!

  • Provide feedback to Osmosis in required monthly surveys and in focus groups - We'd love to hear what is working and what can be improved so we can fulfill our mission of providing the best learning experience possible to clinicians & caregivers.

  • Communicate on our community Slack channels and help us build a community - OMEFs have worked with us from all over the world!

  • Disseminate Osmosis swag - When we run school deals or visit schools we like to come with gifts! You will be the point person to whom we send these items, so you can distribute them to classmates [or you'll have them locally made and be reimbursed]!

  • Share free Osmosis resources with your classmates - Osmosis provides plenty of high-yield and free resources, including hundreds of videos, the ability to create your own content, and e-books. You will periodically share these resources to help your classmates succeed.

  • Contribute to our blog and myriad projects - Get published by contributing your written work or engage in various projects as they arise.

  • Creatively imagine new ideas and ways we can engage with you and the future clinicians at your schools. We love innovation and creation!

  • Be heard - You will be the main representative at your school providing feedback to help us work to transform medical & health education.

  • Be a Leader - Osmosis will empower you with tools to lead your classmates to stay healthy, learn medicine and build stronger medical communities.

  • Be Helpful - Osmosis provides ample free resources that you'll be able to share with your classmates, helping them succeed at exams and in clinical practice as well.

  • Be Exclusive - When we say resources, we don't just mean more videos or notes. We mean workshops, themed challenges, mentorship from practicing physicians and more.

  • Be Fruitful - Fellows can receive payment for some completed activities. Payment varies by activity. All OMEFs must attend kickoff webinar, complete surveys, and attend monthly meetings to be eligible for payments.

  • Be Bold - This is a leadership & educational opportunity with ample potential to interview leaders in medical education, publish research, and receive a letter of recommendation from the Osmosis team [when requested]. All great additions to your resume.

  • Be Published - Osmosis has a large audience of medical and health professional students who are eager to hear your stories, tips, and advice.

This is a part time role at 5-7 hours per month minimum.
