What You'll Do

The Director, Distribution has responsibility for delivering market-leading distribution innovation and performance across the Life House and Life Hospitality portfolio. In essence, you will be responsible for the revenue generated on our third party channels, and will be responsible for making sure we're better than the competition at doing so.

This role requires a creative, resourceful leader who can leverage their existing network to help manage the complex relationships required to make Life House a leader and disruptor in the hotel distribution space. The Director should be experienced in third-party account management (specifically as it relates to the Hotel/Travel industry), project management, deep understanding of analytics and revenue management, possess creative problem-solving skills, and have a passion for execution, innovation, and optimization. The Director will be required to work and align cross-functionally, oversee the work of several groups and partners, serve as the third-party distribution channel subject matter expert, and lead on multiple distribution initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive distribution strategy for Life House's growing hotel portfolio that contributes to the company's overall revenue targets.

  • Negotiate and implement Distribution partnership agreements to provide growing value to customers, business partners, and the overall organization.

  • Consistently demonstrate the capacity and desire to understand the key drivers of all-inclusive commercial performance across all distribution functions and consider external factors.

  • Successfully develop and add new distribution programs and oversee the successful launch of any new initiatives.

  • Create a scalable hotel distribution playbook that makes it possible to onboard new hotels at minimal corporate cost.

Job Specific Requirements

  • Eight (8+) years of professional work experience in hotel distribution.

  • Expert knowledge of hotel distribution channel space, opportunities, and commercial processes, including all OTA's, GDS, Consortia etc.

  • A reliable network in the hotel distribution ecosystem, that can be leveraged to set us up for success.

  • A deep understanding of how these channels work (from rankings, to listing optimization, to what images to showcase, to the implications of price parity etc).

  • A concise and differentiated philosophy on hotel distribution (i.e be a thought leader in the space).

  • Knowledge of sales & revenue management is a plus.

Qualitative Requirements

  • A deep understanding of scalability, and how to set up scalable systems to manage hotel distribution.

  • Experience dealing with external and internal stakeholders with varied objectives/outcomes.

  • Creative thinker who is not satisfied with the "status quo".

  • Extreme attention to detail and strong project management skills, able to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, strong grammar and writing skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
