Position Overview:

The PLL is seeking an ambitious, skilled content strategist to develop, manage and execute the PLL’s content strategy. Individual must be a serial self-starter, highly-capable, and eager to deliver against aggressive targets. Candidate will be asked to immediately coordinate a 2021 content strategy, including a wide range of mediums including audio, video, written, digital and social. Fluency in omni-platform social media, digital content strategy and understanding of the PLL is critical. Individual must be a doer as well as a strategic thinker with upside.

KEY OBJECTIVES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage PLL’s content team against set KPIs and key results

  • Develop and manage the content strategy of the PLL social channels, including the League and Team accounts

  • Recruit and manage hosting talent for league social, editorial and audio content

  • Develop and manage a content strategy for The Lacrosse Network, PLL Academy and PLL Assists (owned PLL assets)

  • Communicate and collaborate with players on major content campaigns

  • Work closely with the Business Development team on creative development and content execution for brand partners

  • Communicate key charitable, social justice and diversity initiatives led by PLL Assists

  • Identify key influencers and content creators to partner with to increase the visibility of the league

  • Develop creative, scripts and strategy for the PLL Podcast network

  • Review production edits, scripts and creative treatments

  • Lead major content campaigns centered around the business’ launch, including location rollout

  • Develop a content and marketing strategy to sell tickets

  • Develop content and marketing strategy to drive linear tune-in and subscriptions to NBC Sports Gold

  • Create content on the business of PLL, from State of the League to messaging for company executives

  • Be aware and active in the lacrosse community

  • Manage and develop an editorial content calendar for blog posts, player profiles, and league news

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years in content strategy and development

  • Experience managing a team for the execution of shared goals

  • Experience managing brand social media channels

  • Experience in writing, producing, or hosting a podcast or audio content

  • Knowledge of the Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Tik Tok ecosystem, including creators and influencers

  • Understanding of the lacrosse community and broader media landscape in the sport

  • Strong analytical capabilities – with the ability to speak to digital marketing KPIs and analysis

  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal and team-based skills

  • A hard worker who is a “doer” first; must be ready to roll sleeves up

  • Highly motivated and eager to make an impact on the organization

  • Strong writing and copywriting skills are a plus

  • Sports or events marketing background is a plus
