Job Overview: Director of Product
As a Director of Product, you will play a critical role in determining what our applications focus on to help meet the needs of our Payer and Provider customers. You will be responsible for managing 1-2 Product Managers and helping to build out a Product Operations/Analyst function. In addition to your management responsibilities, you will be contributing to our products in every way, from ticket execution to making higher-level strategic decisions. Your healthcare expertise will buoy the team as we continue building out our interoperability efforts across the organization, and dive deeper into more complex therapeutic areas. You will create and influence our strategy as you identify and evaluate clinical content, technology and other solutions to help address customer problems. This requires strong clinical knowledge, analytical skills, prioritization skills, and professional writing skills. You will champion a strong and healthy product development culture, and identify and react to opportunities to improve. This role reports to the Chief Product Officer.
Responsibilities:
Manage the responsibilities and performance of 1-2 Product Managers
Help with the design and implementation of the Product Operations function
Coach, mentor, and inspire the entire Product organization on technical and career development
Champion a healthy and adaptable product development culture
Combine outstanding business sense and alignment with enterprise value
Work closely and effectively with business stakeholders in scoping and prioritizing product work, communicating releases and measuring results
Drive product design, development discussions and decisions with members of the team
Ensure high quality of product specs and product review activities
Build strong relationships with your partners across all teams in the company
Experience, Qualities and Skills:
Worked in a healthcare environment and are familiar with the typical buyer profiles, data interoperability standards, and complexities of working within healthcare.
Been in Product Management for 5+ years and have other professional experience outside of Product, preferably clinical.
Proven experience leading multiple Product and Engineering initiatives at growth stage technology startups, managing multiple scrum teams and coaching Product managers, and scrum team members.
Strong product vision and execution skills. You have a strong opinion on the products you build and the value it creates long term. You also set optimized milestones and lead the teams to execute prioritized work to achieve your goals.
Customer obsessed - you talk to your customers, absorb their problems, and execute solutions on solutions which matter to them. You take pride in earning customers’ trust.
Outstanding analytical skills, and ability to analyze user data, think creatively and solve problems with data-driven decision making.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely articulate product concept, goals, tasks and deliverables to cross functional collaborators in a distributed and remote-enabled team setting.
